Eddy's Everything Will Now Be Featured on Manheim Auctions!
Our man Brandon Steven is getting ready for a new business yet again and we couldn't be more excited to share the news with you folks! It's been years and years of trying but, finally, Brandon Steven has purchased Manheim Auctions. This is a really big deal for the Wichita, KS area, as Manheim Auctions, a subsidiary of Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises, is an international wholesale automotive auction that counts itself as the largest in the world. Now, it's one more in the long list of Brandon Stevens businesses.
Up until this point, Steven said that the size of his dealership and the market itself was an issue for Manheim Auctions but, now, he's satisfied that the size of his group is finally to his liking. Stevens sells 1,700 cars a month, with 12 automotive brand dealerships in 10 different locations, so the addition of Manheim has come at an excellent time. If a customer's trade-in vehicle doesn't pass inspection - whether it be because of its mileage or its model year - Steven sells them as wholesale; now that he has Manheim Auctions, he has an even broader reach for his wholesale vehicles. All auctions will happen online, so dealers from all over the country can bid on these cars equally. With Manheim, he expects to sell 200 cars a week. We'll be rooting for him!
As of this time, Stevens will have the auctions every Thursday at an Eddy's body shop at Kellogg and Webb, with the first auction happening on Thursday at 1pm. This is just a temporary set up and he expects to get a permanent space for the auctions within a year. Steven has a specific amount of space in mind and has said he expects to require about four or five acres for his vision to come alive.

Acquiring Manheim Auctions now is excellent but Steven admits that it could have made his life much easier had he been able to acquire it earlier in his life. As he had to make trips to Kansas City and Oklahoma frequently to go to auctions when he first got into the automotive business, this change sparks a big life moment for him. Of course, he's not making a huge fuss about it, stating that "This is just an additional outlet for dealers in Wichita to buy cars." We can always count on Steven to stay humble, even in the event of an exceptional purchase such as this.
Of course, it is a big deal for dealers in the Wichita area. With his local wholesale auctions happening right in town, dealers won't have to make the same big trips to other cities and states as Steven once did in his past. Acquiring Manheim Auctions seems to have turned out as an excellent deal for everyone and we can't wait to see it thrive under the wing of Brandon Steven!
