Success
It
is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey
that matters, in the end.
-- American Author Ursula K. LeGuin
There
are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard
work and learning from failure.
-- General Colin L. Powell
You
miss 100 percent of the shots you never take
-- Wayne Gretzky
Most
of us will succeed only to the extent we are willing to suffer
through many disappointments
Whether
we experience failure or success is unimportant; what is important
is the way we deal with the experience.
You
measure the success of a person not by how well he performs when
the wind is at his back, but how he performs when the wind is
in his face.
Aim
high for the moon, for even if you miss, you will be among the
stars.
Success
is not the result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself
on fire.
-- Reggie Leach
You
can not become what you want to be by remaining what you are.
From
the World of Baseball
- Great
People Don’t Become Great Automatically. Babe
Ruth was famous for hitting a total of 714 home runes,
but few people know that he struck out 1,330 times.
The Babe swung so hard that when he missed he often
fell down. Covered with dirt, often hearing the thousands
of boos, he would tip his hat to the fans. What does
a person think of, when being booed by7 thousands,
that he can still tip his hat to the fans? Somehow
he has come to realize, "I must fail frequently
if I am to succeed." How many times must you fail
before you succeed?
- Most
everyone is familiar with the famous baseball player,
Ty Cobb, who among his many abilities was excellent at
stealing bases. In one year he stole 96 bases in 134
tries. Yet few people have ever heard of Max Carey who,
in 1922 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Stole 51 bases in
only 53 tries.
- In
1982 Ricky Henderson set the single season record with
130 stolen bases. Few know that, in the same year, he
also was thrown out 42 times, also a record. How many
times must you be thrown out before you succeed?

People
are remembered, not for how few times they fail, but how often
they succeed.
Is
there anyone you know who hardly ever fails, but also rarely
succeeds? Instead, they seek comfortable situations where there
is no risk or danger of defeat.
It
is your ability to fail and continue trying which determines
your succeed in any challenge of life.
If
everyone is moving forward together, then the success takes care
of itself.
Life
does not require us to be the biggest or the best, it asks only
that we try.
The
difference between a successful person and others is not a lack
of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of
will.
Coming
together is a beginning; Keeping together is progress; Working
together is success!
Winner
vs. Loser - The winner is always part of the answer, the
loser is always part of the problem. The winner always has
a program, the loser always has an excuse. The winner says "let
me do it for you," the loser says, "that's not my
job." The winner sees an answer to every problem, the
loser sees a problem for every answer. The winner sees a green
near every sand trap, The loser sees two or three sand traps
near every green. The winner says "It may be difficult
but it is possible!" the loser says "It may be possible
but it is too difficult." Be a winner!
You
are successful the moment you start moving toward a worthwhile
goal.
-- Charles Carlson
No
failure is ever final, neither is any success.
A
goal is a dream with a deadline.
Whatever
the mind can conceive, and
The heart can believe,
The body will achieve.
The
people who get on in this world are the people who get up and
look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find
them, make them.
Genius
is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.
I
am not judged by the number of times I fail but by the number
of times I succed and the number of times I succeed is in direct
proportion to the number of times I can fail and keep trying.
If
we serve
with integrity
and excellence,
we will succeed.
To
succeed it takes a special person. But even the very best will
get down occasionally. To me, salespeople are like a battery,
constantly charging and discharging energy. And unless they are
recharged at frequent intervals, they soon run dry.
Every
business that succeeds does so because it sells.
