Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death!
You can not discover new oceans unless you have the courage
to leave the shore.

anonymous.
Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach
of God's grace. And your best days are never so good that you are
beyond the need of God's grace.
There are two things I've learned: There is a God. And, I'm not
Him.

BE ON GOOD TERMS WITH ALL PERSONS. Speak your truth quietly & clearly;
and listen to others, even the dull & ignorant; they too
have their story. Avoid loud & aggressive persons; they
are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain & bitter; for always there will be
greater & lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements
as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career,
however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes
of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the
world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what
virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere
life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign
affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of
all aridity & disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.
Take kindly to counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering
the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you
in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue & loneliness. Beyond a wholesome
discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the
universe, no less than the trees & the stars; you have
a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore
be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and
whatever your labors & aspirations, in the noisy confusion
of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery & broken
dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to
be happy. |
“YESTERDAY,
TODAY AND TOMORROW”
There are two days in every week that we should not worry about, two days that
should be kept free from fear and apprehension.
One is YESTERDAY, with its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its
aches and pains. Yesterday has passed, forever beyond our control. All the
money in
the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed.
Nor can we erase a single word we’ve said – yesterday
is gone!
The other day we shouldn’t worry about is TOMORROW, with its impossible
adversaries, its burden, its hopeful promise and poor performance. Tomorrow is
beyond our control. Tomorrow’s sun will rise either in splendor or behind
a mask of clouds – but
it will rise. And until it does, we have no stake in tomorrow, for it is yet
unborn.
This leaves only one day - TODAY. Any person can fight the battles of just
one day. It is only when we add the burdens of yesterday and tomorrow that we
break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad - it is
the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday, and the dread
of what tomorrow
may bring.
Let us, therefore, live one day at a time!
